“I empower buyers and sellers by thoroughly educating and informing them so they can make sound, successful decisions for themselves and their families.”

-Susan Sparks Watt, Your Empowerment Agent

Susan Sparks Watt, Empowerment Broker

“Can’t isn’t in your vocabulary, so don’t let anything stop you.” Those words spoken to Susan Sparks Watt by her mother were to become the very foundation of her personal and professional life.

Susan was born and raised in the small town of Ardmore, OK, population approximately 25,000.  Her father was a general surgeon, and her mother was a housewife.  Throughout her school years, she was a team mascot, attending any type of sporting event to support her team.  This led many to believe she was somewhat of an extrovert.  But while she had no issue standing up for the greater good and speaking out on behalf of others, she has always had a twinge of shyness.

She believes strongly in total transparency, ensuring that no customer is left in the dark during the process.

Like most families, Susan’s greatly influenced her future. Her father’s commitment to the hippocratic oath instilled in her a value of keeping the business of others to herself. Her mother taught her to be solution oriented, therefore helping her to smooth out some of the bumps in the road during the real estate process more effectively than others in her field.  She carried those lessons throughout her education at Texas A&M, and all the way to Edinburgh, Scotland, where she spent a semester abroad, and also where she met her future husband, John.  They have now been married 30 years.

Over the past 18 years, Susan has been working as a Broker Associate, the only broker in her company besides the co-owners. After only 2 years as a Realtor® in her hometown of Ardmore, she was asked to be the State Director of their local real estate board.  During this time, she learned how to approach state legislators regarding laws that affect the industry. She’s also recognized for mentoring new associates, empowering them to develop into more knowledgeable, professional Realtors.

As for her customers, she empowers her buyers and sellers by thoroughly educating and informing them so they can make sound, successful decisions for themselves and their families. It’s no wonder she has become known as Your Empowerment Broker. She assists people from all backgrounds, means and cultures to provide a smooth, swift transaction from contract to closing.  She believes strongly in total transparency, ensuring that no customer is left in the dark during the process. These are the principal reasons her customers have no hesitation placing complete and total trust in her to guide them thoroughly through each step of the process.

When Susan isn’t helping her customers, she is giving of herself in other ways. Aside from taking care of her 96 year-old mother, whom she calls her most influential mentor, she enjoys traveling and golfing with her husband, or taking care of their two English Bulldogs, Wilbur and Charlotte. She and John have a special affinity for operas, and have attended events throughout the United States, including Santa Fe, New York, and Dallas. While maintaining dreams of her own, Susan still sets out every day to make the dreams of her customers come true above all else, even when those dreams seem almost impossible. As it turns out, the advice given to Susan by her mother continues to serve her well, and make others proud to call her their Empowerment Broker.
